One of the recent developments in the fire protection industry is the integration of AI technology with alarm and extinguishing systems. An article in ScienceDirect (2024) introduces an intelligent hybrid system that uses image data (RGB), infrared (IR), and ultraviolet (UV) to accurately detect fires. In this model, cameras and multispectral sensors simultaneously monitor the environment. Machine learning algorithms analyze image frames to examine flame movement, heat intensity, and smoke emission and determine whether a real fire is occurring. This combination of data significantly reduces false alarms, which is a major problem in traditional systems. The fire extinguishing system also automatically selects and activates the type of extinguishing agent (water, foam, or clean gas) by analyzing the severity and location of the fire. In tests conducted in industrial environments, the detection accuracy of this system was up to 97% and the average response time was less than 3 seconds. 🔹 Application for Iranian companies: In spaces such as petrochemical plants, warehouses, and data centers, where both sensitivity is high and the possibility of false alarms is high, hybrid systems with intelligent analysis can be a suitable alternative to classic smoke or heat systems.
